I have a cueball wizard, Gottlieb 1992. It put up an error message
about U3 or U6 chip. Found that the battery had leaked on the U6
chip. Replaced battery, cleaned board and replaced U6 chip. Now when
I turn the game on it flashes a bunch of numbers on the display and
shows credit 0. First of all I replaced the 3V battery with a 4.5V
battery pack. Would that have caused any issues? Second the U6 chip
had different numbers. Old one was a Dallas DS1210
9214C1 New one is a Dallas DS1210 0421C1.
Would these slight differences cause the problems or any suggestions?

I've never tried it, but extra voltage may cause an issue. The spec
sheet of the DS1210 states max voltage for BAT1 is 4v. I would remove
one battery, and run a jumper from one terminal to the other where the
3rd battery would be.

As far as the other numbers go, they look like date codes (14th week
of 1992 versus the 21st week of 2004).
