Prices in the US

I have posted about this before, but I have run into again, and before I do anything I wanted to make sure.

In the southern midwest part of the US, I have always believed that there were few operators back in the 60's and 70's. So, in turn machines that were very popular and just in most cases, just "machines" no matter what they were, only made it down here in limited numbers. One great example are bowlers, since I started in this hobby back in 2012, I still have never seen a bowler in person. The ones that have the ball that rolls down the rail and can be anywhere from 10 feet long and longer....I have seen pictures, but never in person. AND when I ask whomever I am buying pins off of, ,they usually just laugh and tell me ..... you are in Texas, people here were drilling for oil while the rest of the world were in arcades!!!

So the Gottlieb games from the 60's. the ones made right after the woodrail era....down here can go 300 to 700. These are the machines that are all there, not to bad of shape, backglass in okay shape, and it can. be fixed and shopped out without many problems. BUT, If I go north ....that is North of Kansas, that price range changes to 600 to 1200. for the same machine and same condition.

Is this common??? Has this been what others have ran into??? Don't get me wrong I dont mind paying for good games. I am just trying to establish whether or not this is true...and on the West and East Coast, the prices are even higher I have been told.

I hear house prices vary too...

It all depends on what people are willing to pay, that is always the
'value' of things. I've been selling games for over 40 years and prices
go all over the place. Usually a well made game that is fun to play will
go for more $$ than a boring machine, but it all depends.

Some rare games get a great price, but aren't much play fun, others that
are a riot to play (Counterforce!) don't do better than their brethren...
