I designed some more pinball plastic protectors for pins I own. In
this last batch I ran some protectors for my Jacks Open (Gottlieb EM
1977). I bought a new set of plastics from Pinball Resource a few
years ago, and I wanted to protect the commonly broken plastics so it
doesn't happen again. So I made protectors for the slingshot plastics
and the big plastic behind the drop targets. The drop target protector
is actually two pieces that protect the front edge of the plastic
(right behind the targets).
These are made from 1/16" thick clear PETG plastic (impact resistant)
and laser cut. I only made one extra set (in addition to the set for
my machine). So the first person to contact me can have the set for
$22 shipped.
Here are a couple pics of the protectors installed:

Hey Matt, just curious, have you ever actually broken a plastic, new
or old, before?
I personally have never, and play maybe 8-10K games a year with hot
rodded flipper, pop bumper and sling coils.

Yes, unfortunately I have. I am responsible for breaking both
slingshot
plastics on my Jacks Open. I have owned the game for 28 years now.
The damage happened after about 8 years of owning it. I had just
replaced all the rubber and given it a a good waxing. Both slings
were
broken within a month or so. It was very sad....
The big plastic behind the drop targets was all busted up when we
got the machine. The pieces were held together with scotch tape.
It took at least one good hit while I've owned it... I remember
having
to reassemble it.

The protector set is tentatively sold. If anyone really wants one
send
me an email and maybe if I get enough requests I'll run some more.
