Hi guys, I have two issues with this game.
1) The rollover switch before going down to the lower pf doesn't work. Illumination lights and flippers don't turn on in the lower pf area when the ball passes over the switch. The ball does eject back to the upper pf though. Otherwise all the other functions of the game work. Due to my lack of troubleshooting skills with solid states, I have only gotten as far as locating it on the switch matrix as #33. I cleaned(not filed), and adjusted the switch to no avail. I went through the switch test via the test button but couldn't seem to navigate that part like I could with other test functions like coils.
2) The illumination lights on the upper pf don't work. I should specify that all the running lights on the upper and lower pf's work. So the lights on the pop bumpers and under the plastics aren't working. I have checked all the fuses and they're good.
I have a Pascal PI-80 installed on this game.
Please help.
Thanks, Chris

Hi Chris,

You need to pull out the Pascal manual and put the game into Switch
Test. Then check the other switches on the Row and Column that your
non-responsive switch is located at the junction of... So if your at the
junction of Row 2 and Column 2 - then you want to check that other
switches also on Row 2 are good, and then that the switches on Column 2
are also good. If one or the other groups are bad, then check for ground
shorts and/or broken wires.

If ONLY switch 33 is not registering, then there is likely something
wrong with the switch - either wiring to/from the switch to the next
switch on the Row/Column or perhaps the switch diode is open (do a diode
test) or the contacts of the blade switches are corroded to the point
where they don't show continuity when closed using your ohmmeter...

I have no idea how Pascal does his tests, but you will have the manual
handy, right?

Thanks John for your advice. I'll follow through with your suggestions, and report back.
And no, I don't have the manual handy😔
I'll look into seeing if I can download it🙂
