Slugfest Pitching Problem

Having a difficult time figuring out the problem on this one....My
Slugfest pitches fine for the most part
in TWO player mode, only a mispitch every now and then.

But in single player mode, pitches one or two, then blanks the next
two. What could cause this sporadic problem? I did check the small
board underneath the playfield that connects to the motor and it did
have a loose
ceramic resistor, so I reflowed the solder on it. These don't go bad
do they??

Any help would be most appreciated

thanks

I am curious? When you say it blanks the next two pitched, do you mean it cycles but no ball comes out? Or do you mean you press a pitch button and nothing happens?
I assume you know you have to wait for the home plate to light before you can press a pitch button. If you press before, it will not pitch.

Dennis:

No ball come out, very odd. Forgot to mention also that FAST BALL
works all the time in 2 player mode. But other pitches not consistent
at all when button is pushed.
sometimes the ball comes out, other times not....

any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Make sure you have 6 balls installed in the machine.

Also note that in single player mode, no matter what pitch button you press the game throws a random pitch. That might be a clue to your problem. Or not.

I had the same problem when I had the game out on location. Didn't
make any sense!! Check the Z connector and the IDC. I had a couple
wires work loose/ poor connection! This was the root problem and sent
the signal for 2 balls and no balls to be pitched. SW logic. I was so
pissed. I pulled the game off route and it took me about 30 min to
figure out the problem. Every time you pull the control panel you pull
the Z connector and their you go! I fixed my issues hope it works for
you. E

checked connectors, followed all trace, still problem exits. Don't
know what to try next...

Seriously, how long is it going to take you to realize you cant repair
a pinball machine to save your life. Just call up Llyod and pay him to
come do a inspection first which is another $45 bucks.

FYI, balls hang up on the gap between the playfield and the ball
trough behind the player targets. This is the simplest reason no balls
come out - there are no balls to come out! You should be able to see
them sitting there. Just give the game a good nudge and they'll fall
back into the trough.
