WTB: 220/230 volt GTB & WMS EM score motors

Thanks John. A transformer will change the voltage but not the hertz and I'm concerned that the score motor won't function properly. It's funny that you replied because one of the machines that this is for is my GTB Dimension which I bought from a guy in Burnaby many years ago. I'm not sure how an AAB wound up in BC but there it was and there I was.

As an aside, how are things going in BC these days? I heard you're having extreme weather events and passage in and out is very limited. Is this true?

Hi Chris,

I take it you are overseas then relative to North America. The timing
motor should run OK if you are going from 60Hertz down to 50Hertz - it
is the other direction that may get issues. The motor will just run
about 15% slower (60|50 ratio), but should have enough torque. Otherwise
you might want to try my AC inverter trick which may work when you can't
find a motor of the right frequency. Go to your local car shop and pick
up a 12VDC inverter of the correct output current and then run it from a
computer power supply for the needed 12VDC current source. Use a relay
to switch it in and out of circuit and for the timing motor you will
need a step-down transformer. Probably not very efficient by this point.
Someone needs to design up a 25VAC inverter running at either 50 or 60
Hertz to power these games at the frequency they were designed for.

Weather? Yes, we have had our share this fall - major highways washed
out (fixed mostly now).
And flood plains - well getting flooded. What did they expect? We get a
lot of rain, and what with clear cutting forests off of mountain sides
and this shit happens! And the planet is switching from El Nino to La
Nina weather patterns - again, what do people expect?
