I have been lucky enough to acquire both these games in the past 2 months.
I unveiled them at an Open House I had last weekend, which for most people
was the first time they had seen a CC or had time to really play an MM.
While both pins received rave reviews, I was curious as to which one people
liked best. So I ran a poll on our group website, asking the question "
Based soley on playability and fun, which game did you like the best" The
result has been a perfect 50/50 split. Depth of game play was stated as the
main reason for choosing the MM, while fun game play was mentioned most when
picking the CC. I should mention that these are serious pinball players,
all who own their own games.

I've read a lot of negative comments on the RGP about Cactus Canyon, but
having played one now for over a month, it is definitely one of the best
pins I have ever owned (15 years, well over 50 pins owned at one time or
another) As for the Medieval Madness, I am just getting into it, but I can
definitely see why it is as popular as it is.

Interested to see what other RGPer's who have played both games think

Cactus Canyon vs Medieval Madness

HAHAH AH HAHAHAHHA

is that really a comparison.... i know you are a proud owner of a CC since only
800+ were made but dont get too excited about it. lots of easy shots and how
many times must you play high noon before that gets boring ( 10 maybe ?! ) i
would never sell mine but it mostly sits there and looks pretty and gets played
once a month at best and that is by my wife ;-) ! it is probably one of the
best beginner player pins around without a doubt, then again i do get caught up
on it sometimes and can't get off it for a couple hours ;-) ! now on the other
hand, i can throw the MM on anytime / anyday and i can only get excited about
thinking of the sneeky tactics im going to pull out on it that day.

cheers,

im thinking a few got lost in the garbage...... at least i saw one the other
day on route that at least should be heading there soon. so i hardly count
that one to the list of survivors.

i think 925 is in the 800 + category also....

just havin' a laugh.......

MM is way better, because CC is far too easy and therefore can get old real
fast whereas Mm is very difficult and deep so it keeps your interest.
Just my two cents

The plaque does say 925. But the IPDB says that 903 is a "confirmed"
number.

925 may have been the original plan, but I've been told that CC was only
made until they ran out of parts for building them.

I've had both in my gameroom now for quite some time, and I agree with
your poll's results. I love both games. I put MM ahead of CC by a
little because of the depth, but I find both incredibly fun and
incredibly humorous.

I recently purchased both withing the last two months as well (ouch on the
pocketbook for sure) and even though I don't have my CC yet, it will be here
in a couple of weeks. I decided to buy a CC because I have had an
opportunity to play one locally at Chris Hutchin's house, with a fair amount
of frequency. The game is a lot of fun to play, IMHO, and I do not
understand why it does not get the love that many other games do. I enjoy
MM as well, but one of the things I like about CC, is you don't have to be a
professional player to enjoy it, and it has really good flow. I believe I
will sell my MM before my CC ever goes anywhere, but that honestly isn't
because of the supply and demand thing.

Interesting question, I will be curious how the results go.

Congratulations, I'm glad to see I'm not the only crazy person. Yes the MM
is a deeper game, there is no argument about that, but the CC is very fast
and I just love the humor. The John Wayne voice makes me smile every time I
hear it. I hope you really enjoy the CC when it arrives

Got to play CC for the first time this weekend and I enjoyed it. I really liked
the pop up drop targets and had good flow to it. Would I pay 5k+ for one...
Doubt it. I can see it getting old over time, just seemed a little easy (almost
got to final mode on one game). "Lock is lit and so am I" could be one of the
funniest lines I have heard on a pin, there were some other good lines too. MM
on the other hand I will have a hard time ever getting rid of and if I did I
would not have a problem paying the 5k+ for another, many different ways to
approach a game, deep ruleset, great sounds, etc. I think that CC gets the
negative pub because of the price for gameplay. I can think of many other games
that I would rate the gameplay higher that I could have 3 or 4 of for the price
of one CC. My wife loved the CC but when I told her the price she said the same
thing. I also think that MM does not get old over time and I would be interested
if people that play your machines week after week would continue to split their
opinions.

always sell it to a non rgp member though ;-) !
