I'm new to EMs and enjoying the challenge - but am stumped on this
problem with my Bally Wizard.

Basically the player and ball count will not advance at the end of
each ball. I have checked both stepper units and they do not appear to
be binding. The player stepper unit tries to reset after each ball.
The player reset relay remains energised (and has a loud buzz).

Any help appreciated. Thanks!

First check the outhole relay, next to it is the ball index relay,
check that the ends of the contacts are in the actuators, and the
contacts are clean and gapped properly, next check the player reset
relay, second from the top on the right side, if none of these seem
to be the problem, go back to the player reset relay and use a small
screw driver to seperate the contacts one by one, when you break the
contact that stops the buzzing, follow the wire to its next conection
and check the contacts at that relay. All of this assunes that you
have not only checked that the steppers are not binding, but that all
of their contacts are clean and making contact. Do you have a
schematic for your machine? If not let me know and I'll try to scan
you mine, I've owned a wizard for 30 years, so hopefully I can help
you make this great machine right! Terry
