Hi!

Not a common test fixture, and I have one that appears to have an
internal problem... I am looking for the manual (PDF is fine) and hoping
that this includes the schematics for the fixture.

I have working 6803 test fixture ROMs that I am happy to share if anyone
needs them...

Thanks,

John :-#)#

You have mail!

A few friends have send me enough info to sort this all out. It would be
nice to track down the cabinet wiring diagrams - even though it is dead
simple inside - for completion.

WARNING - my 6803 test fixture did not have the power transformer, nor
the metal panel which has the power switch connected to the line ground!
Please do a safety check on your machine as I suspect this has been
repeated in other 6803 fixtures.

Two Bally 6803 test fixtures have now been found with the internal
ground not connected to the line filter and power line ground - please
check your machine as chances are better now that it has no internal
ground connected to the line.

Note too that the ground wire (green with stripe) which is cut off near
the power switch is tied to the ground strap and once you have hooked
the line ground to the internal ground strip it should be extended to
ground the power switch, power light, and Switch Test panel for
electrical safety!

Might anyone have a different version of the 6803 Test EPROMs? The
version I have (Rv 2) don't seem to work with a board wired to use
Strobe 5! That is High all the time, but the game code (Atlantis) pulses
it as required for normal strobe operation. This Strobe 5 was optional
on the board as the jumpers could be set for either use as Strobe 5 or
enabling Q9 solenoid to work.

The code I have does not attempt to fire Q9 (displays never show Q9, nor
any delay for a missing coil) and it simply never pulses Strobe 5 so
when I am in Switch test for any Strobe 5 button it shows Strobe 1, 2,
3, and 4 switches as pressed - one after the other.

Anyway, I am now looking for any other Test EPROMs for the machine to
try and sort out S5.

Bally's 6803, looks like it was just hacked together...
