Hey guys- another question about my new champion pub machine. The
boxer is not rotating all the way around I think. Here's a picture of
his resting position that he always sits in:

and his starting position during a fight:

During a fight he starts there and then later rotates so he straight
with the flippers but I think he's supposed to be straight with the
flippers off the start?

Any ideas?

Yes, that is incorrect. He shifts from side to side during the firght,
but starts centered, plus the curtain is centered.

We did not have any problem with our CPB so I never looked at the
centering switches for the boxer/curtain. I would expect either a
microswitch or opto switch to indicate when it is in the correct position.

If I manually move the boxer back to 0 degrees in test mode so the
heavy bag is straight facing the flippers, then take it out of test
mode, the game spins the jumprope once (like it should) but then moves
the boxer back to the right about 15 degrees. For some reason the game
is thinking 15 degrees is the boxer's resting position. I looked in
the manual and saw that there's an opto board... found the board under
the boxer right near the motor. How would I make an adjustment to
these optos? Does anyone have a cp and know about this?

Your Boxers Opto Interrupter Wheel may be broken, loose or out of
alignment on the shaft, I don't believe there is any way to adjust the
Opto Board [email me & I'll check ours tonight].
Make sure that the set screw in it is centered in the divot in the
shaft which should align the boxer correctly. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN the
set screw as the Opto Interrupter (round black plastic wheel) is
easily broken.
If that fixes the Boxers alignment and it was from coming loose Remove
the set screw & use a VERY, SMALL amount of Blue Loctite and Replace
the set screw.
Good Luck,
Kim

Ok- I studied how the opto interrupter wheel works and I see how the
game knows where the boxer is. It looks like I'm having problems with
the first position-

The large wheel aligns with the first opto position (the one that
tells the game the boxer is at 0 degrees) however when the wheel
aligns my boxer is basically at 15 degrees- the switch is registered
as closed but I can move the boxer with my hand the remaining 15
degrees (he's basically loose)- when I do this the wheel does not
move, therefore the positions are still aligned and the switch is
still registered as closed. I need to find a way to get my boxer to
move the remaining 15 degrees before the positions align on the opto
wheel. Would removing the screw do this

This is my first step in the hunt to fix this. (It's driving me
crazy!)

Thanks guys.

Is the Opto Interrupter Wheel set screw in the locating divot in the
Boxer shaft?
If it is correctly positioned your Boxer may be loose and/or you may
need to tighten or realign him to the Opto Interrupter Wheel.

Solved!!! Thanks Pin - K, yes after studying for a while realized that
there are 4 screws that use an allen wrench above the interrupter
wheel, these tighten the boxer to the rod and one of the screws was
way loose. I realigned him and tightened as hard as I could- boxer
aligns perfect now!! Thank you!
